Job Description
Formulates, develops, and coordinates all safety and loss control functions of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards through safety-training of all managers, planned inspections, skill training, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment.
Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
Managerial skills; preference for protective service, public relations aptitude, communication skills, safety conscious, clerical accuracy, observant, investigative, empathetic and understanding, mechanically inclined; able to control emergency, crisis and stress situations; independent thinking/sound judgment; physically able and proficient in self-defense.; independent thinking/sound judgment; physically able and proficient in CPI; think quickly, make accurate decisions immediately in response to urgent situations; flexible to adapt to changing practices and/or situations.
Minimum of 3 years Security Experience
Education:
High school diploma plus one (1) to two (2) years supervised training/study required; courses in law enforcement, management and pertinent experience desirable.
Licenses/Certificates:
BLS
CPI
Current and valid driver's license
