St Mary's a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Security Officer to join our Security team. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors.
This position performs general security work in the protection of persons, property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules and regulations of Trinity Health Of New England. Connecticut Guard Card Certification is required.

You Will Be Responsible For:
Excellent Attention to Detail: Checks to ensure hospital entrances, doors, and windows are securely locked. Inspects equipment, machinery, alarms, sprinkler systems and so forth to ensure all are properly working. Notifies appropriate personnel of problems as necessary.
Exceptional Patient Care: Escorts patients, visitors and colleagues to hospital parking areas or through buildings as requested.
Technical Familiarity: Responds appropriately to and carries out proper procedures for the Emergency Operations Plan, Security Operation Plan, and Emergency Codes.
Active Teamwork: Maintain a safe environment. Performs other special assignments as requested.
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in either the security or criminal justice field required and/or appropriate course work in lieu of experience may be considered.
CT State Driver's license required.
Completion of Connecticut Guard Card Certification Class required by state statue Connecticut Public Act 08-73 required. Pending or valid CT State Guard Card required for consideration.
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time (2-4 hours), walk distances of 1-2 miles and climb up to ten flights of stairs.
Must have the ability to restrain combative persons when required.
Heavy lifting may be required.
Must demonstrate ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written.
