Security Officer

Overview

Expected pay for this position is $19.81 - $27.97/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Officer functions in an unarmed security post for OSF Health Care campuses. Security officers are responsible for the safety and security within OSF HealthCare campuses by conducting unarmed patrol, monitoring alarm systems, assisting in investigations, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School/GED

• Current State Driver's License

• BLS (American Heart Association) CPR certification within 90 days of hire

• International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire.

• National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 1 year of hire.

• LCMMC: Active FOID Card Experience: Service with a police department or active military, military reserves, or National Guard, and/or 1 year security experience or customer service.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's degree

• Service with a police department or active military, military reserves, or National Guard, and/or 3 years security experience.

• International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) Advanced Certification.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
