Elite Security Officers are responsible for the protection of our clients substantial property and personnel. Individuals in this role will be responsible for a multiplicity of duties including theft watch, patrols, security and video monitoring and access control.

As an Elite Security Officer, you will interact with Law Enforcement and other officials to keep the public safe. If you are pursuing a career in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement, this is a perfect career for you.

Responsibilities (vary based on location):

  • Protect and ensure the safety of others and handle emergency situations. Collaborate with Law Enforcement when necessary.

  • Patrol locations on foot or in a company car, observe and report suspicious activity, and write neat, legible notes.

  • Use excellent customer service skills with clients and customers.

  • Access control, CCTV Monitoring, administrative duties, theft watch and more

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to walk for 6-12 hours/day.

Qualifications:

  • Unarmed Security License. We provide training for this license if needed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Clean Background.

  • Basic computer and technological aptitude

  • Customer service, security, or military experience preferred (relevant military training/experience may be considered in lieu of education/experience)

In addition, you will be responsible to secure buildings to avoid theft and property damage throughout the University. Applies preventive measures to insure possible hazards are minimized. Demonstrated human relation skills and a working knowledge of radio codes and regulations along with a commitment to provide excellent customer service are also required. Responsibilities 1. Unlocks University buildings at the beginning of each work day and secures University property by locking buildings and turning off lights and other electrical devices unintentionally left on after office hours. 2. Patrols the University, inspecting buildings, examining doors and windows, and checking for intrusions. 3. Assists the Fire Department by answering fire alarms with fire fighters and unlocking buildings and barriers to permit entry. 4. Assist Police Department by investigating disturbances and referring the call to police if a violation of the law has occurred. 5. Maintains appropriate logs to advise department heads of potential security problems. 6. Provides special services to the University community such as locking and unlocking offices, escorting individuals and assisting patrons and visitors with directions. 7. Monitors the security of controlled substances and expensive equipment through closed-circuit television to prevent theft. 8. Assists hospital staff during medical emergencies by managing crowd control. In collaboration with a supervisor, incumbents may need to determine when to restrain combative patients, detain persons suspected of criminal activity or trespassing and/or contact University Police for assistance. Depending on the department or area of service, the following may apply: * The incumbent is exposed to potentially stressful or dangerous situations that result from human behavior and hostile situations that may become threatening, necessitating the use of physical force. * The incumbent is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or run up/down stairs, kneel, crouch or crawl and occasional use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Incumbents occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and must be physically capable of restraining a combative patient or trespasser. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust vision with corrective measures. * The incumbent is expected to participate in a rotating on-call schedule , 24-hours a day, seven days a week, work weekends and holidays, and to handle emergencies particularly during special events on campus. * The incumbent might be required to obtain International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (I.A.H.S.S.) certification after six months of being hired in areas where the Director of Public Safety has determined it to be essential.
