Distinguishing Features of Work

The Wichita Police Department has an immediate opening for one armed Security Officer with the department's Security Section. The section provides security at City Hall and the Advanced Learning Library with both locations being high paced, requiring outgoing customer service and excellent multi-tasking skills. The primary location of the City's government administration, City Hall, has the potential for high visibility due to visiting citizens from varying diverse backgrounds including dignitaries from local, state and federal governments. Security Officers must provide the appropriate level of tact and diplomacy at all times. Professionalism and courtesy are a priority for dealing with all visiting public.

The Security section is a 24 hour, 365 day operation with multiple shift schedules and varying days off, to include working holidays as required.
