Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Lead Security Officer or the Director of Security and Safety, the Security Officer performs a variety of duties involving safety, security, emergency management, and related activities. Patrols buildings and grounds, monitors parking and traffic, responds to and investigates security incidents, and assists and interacts with patients, visitors and staff as appropriate. Greets and assists visitors, patients and others. Follows through with questions, requests, and concerns in a timely fashion. Helps the patients, employees and visitors obtain information they need. On occasion, acts as shuttle driver transporting employees to and from various satellite parking lots.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conducts preventative security and safety patrols throughout buildings and grounds.

  • Participates in follow-up investigations.

  • Provides security for the hospital's patients, visitors, staff and employees and safeguards the property by immediately responding to requests and emergency codes.

  • Maintains alertness for unusual or abnormal conditions or suspicious activities.

  • Observes unauthorized persons and takes appropriate action, notifies supervisor or police.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice preferred.

  • MOAB or CPI training preferred

  • 0-1 years related work experience required in Hospital Security.

  • MA Driver's License and good driving record

  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years Hospital Security experience

  • Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

  • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:

Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. Work is physically demanding and requires extended periods of standing and/or moving.

The Major Gift Officer will be primarily responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of BID-Needham major donors. The Major Gift Officer will steward an active portfolio of individual major gift prospects and donors. The Major Gift Officer serves as a member of the development team and plays a central role in developing, overseeing, and managing major gift strategies and programs, and coordinating them with other areas of the department's advancement efforts. An advocate for the hospital, the Major Gift Officer represents the institution among its senior volunteer leadership and key and influential public audiences. Essential Responsibilities: * Serves as a strategic member of the development team with the primary responsibility for advancing the institution's major gifts program to successfully identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift ($25,000+) prospects and donors. * Works with the Director of Development to devise, implement, and manage effective, creative, and original strategies designed to individually and systematically interest, engage, and secure a wide range of key prospects to meet or exceed institutional funding goals. * Manages a personal portfolio of 150 prospects and donors. Responsible for making a target of 15 donor visits per month to assigned prospect portfolio. * As part of the hospital's Grateful Patient and Family Fundraising program, build close working relationships with physicians and other clinical staff to build a grateful patient pipeline. Contribute to the goals, priorities and success metrics for grateful patients and family giving. * Shapes key institutional and development related messages through the direction and preparation of major proposals, solicitation letters, and other materials for major prospects and donors; ensures that they are persuasively communicated to key and target audiences and are consistent with the efforts of others to strategically position the institution in the marketplace. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required. * 1-3 years related work experience required in development experience, with an established track record of major gift or other related development. 5 years preferred. * Solid volunteer management experience; demonstrated ability to engage and successfully utilize volunteers in achieving fund raising goals. Demonstrated success in personally cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and/or annual fund gifts. * Demonstrated ability to effectively represent an organization to external audiences through the use of strong verbal and written communications skills and marketing of concepts and ideas. Knowledge of the utilization of information systems to support fund raising activities. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate a large number of projects simultaneously with minimum supervision. * Strong interpersonal skills: self-confidence and assertiveness, diplomacy, teamwork, good judgment, confidentiality, and a sense of humor. Ability to travel, occasional evening and weekend work, and to adjust to other needs of the department. * Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
