Job Description

Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of Professional Security Officer. For all full-time positions, we offer medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, sick pay (in states where required), employee assistance programs, company discounts, perks and more! We also offer part-time and flexible schedules!

As a Professional Security Officer for Allied Universal you will be responsible for the security and safety of our client's property and personnel. As the Allied Universal Security Officer, you will know all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent for non-driving and 21 years of age for driving positions

  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

  • For Driving Positions must be 21 years of age, Current state driver's license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

  • Able to:

  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds

  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

The Animal Control Officer I will be a participatory leader: a results-oriented, relationship-building, self-aware team player who also possesses high integrity, politeness, and fostering trust by building relationships with tolerance, patience and support in order to provide the best value in service of the citizens of Brownsville. The purpose of the Animal Control Officer I is to patrol the city, control the population of domestic or wild animals, and enforce city ordinances. The Animal Control Officer I is responsible for issuing citations, responding to complaints, monitoring city areas, and catching animals. The class works according to some procedures; decides how and when to do things under general supervision. COMPETENCIES: * Effective Communication * Trust * Time Management * Ethical Practice * Customer Service KEY FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: * Drives and patrols the city for violations of ordinances or animal problems, and enforces those ordinances. * Patrols sections of the city in a vehicle looking for violations of city ordinances and health codes, and deals with the public regarding these violations. * Handles all calls from the public related to pest control or removal. * Investigates complaints or problems, and issues citations for violations. * Catches, detains, treats, or euthanizes animals. * Writes reports on calls, court cases, and other documentation. * Answers phone, communicates, and educates the public regarding questions and information about city ordinances. * Performs related tasks as necessary. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Requires high school diploma or GED * Valid Texas Driver's License. * Requires Animal Euthanasia Technician Certification, Animal Control Certification, and Chemical Capture Certification. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: * Requires a minimum of three months of work related experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Requires medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, or lifting all of the time, exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis, exceptional skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands, or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerance or limits of accuracy. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The City of Brownsville requires all employees to successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol examination and a Background Check.
