Position will oversee Security personnel at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands.
Full-time, days, Monday through Friday
Position responsible for managing the security programs at a Memorial Hermann Hospital campus and is accountable for the operations and development of security support services at assigned campus, including the management of security staff. Directs and/or supervises security programs for larger facilities at least 75, square feet with more than 2 security FTE's.Job Description
Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice, Management or related field preferred, or the equivalent in training or experience.
Experience: At least two (2) years management experience in security or law enforcement, preferably in a healthcare or corporate environment.
Licenses/Certifications: 1) Certified as a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (if not certified upon date of hire, must obtain certification no more than six months after becoming eligible for certification), 2) Must be licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (if not licensed upon date of hire, must obtain license no more than 6 months after hire), 3) Possession of a valid driver's license upon hire (if from out of state, has the ability to obtain a Texas Driver's license within 90 days of employment), and 4) Must meet the Security Services requirements to carry a firearm, and 5) Must be certified in Heartsaver CPR by the American Heart Association (if not certified upon date of hire, must obtain certification no more than 90 days after hire).
Knowledge of Texas Penal Code, security reports and investigations, and JCAHO security standards.
Must be able to understand the English language and communicate it effectively in both verbal and written form. Proficiency in the use of computers is required.
Must be able to meet Physical Fitness Requirements as outlined in the System Security Physical Fitness Standard (see the Standard for details).

Ensures compliance with all Security codes, licensing, and reporting requirements required by JCAHO or State/local regulations. Conducts follow-up investigations on reported security incidents and implements performance improvement initiatives when required. Keeps customers and managers informed and involved; constantly monitors and evaluates services on an ongoing basis.
Participates in budget preparation, analyzes financial statements and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Ensures adequate supplies are available and within budget constraints for assigned unit.
Hires, coaches, and terminates staff; remains objective when dealing with issues; seeks input and provides consistent and timely feedback; remains accessible and visible to staff; communicates consistently with staff; coordinates and participates in security training and development programs; responsible for coordinating and maintaining security coverage and assisting supervisors with staff scheduling
Serves as rotating on-call supervisor for security.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
