Summary:
Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Security department. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges. Responsible for the supervision of highly visible and professional armed security to the property to complement existing security programs. Act as a visual deterrent, intervene and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency situations including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats, and mitigate incidents through early detection and/or disruption of criminal conduct or other potentially violent and undesirable activity.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Hire, train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff
Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
Provide protection for guests and team members
Responsible for the continual development, planning and execution of security plans for events such as concerts, shows and any other venues that may be assigned
Be a member of and have direct command of the Company's Laughlin, NV-owned properties' Security Tactical Team, to include member selection, training and Incident responses (including Incident review and documentation)
Assist other property Security Managers and act in their absence with managing day to day casino and hotel security operations to provide a safe environment for guests, team members, the Company and their properties
Identify and respond to emergency situations including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, explosive incidents, natural disasters, and a wide range of issues posing a hazard to lives and/or property using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response by following established protocols
Assist in providing backup to the Security team on calls that have a potential to escalate to violence
Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures
Render appropriate first aid to injured persons
Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons
Work well with other departments and management as necessary
Interact with guests and team members in a professional manner and interact with local law enforcement agencies as required
Perform all duties in accordance with Golden Entertainment Security Department policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
Perform all other security, training or administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications
Minimum five years of law enforcement, armed security or military experience
Minimum five years of experience in casino security operations preferred
Proven experience using sound judgment and making appropriate decisions during challenging situations and/or interacting with challenging patrons
Ability to respond to direction and/or orders from supervisory personnel, especially in the context of an active shooter, assault, or other similar situations
Proven experience providing high level of guest service
Excellent guest service skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft operating system and applications preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Able to attend and successfully complete all quarterly firearms training and annual security recertification training
Compliance with all mandatory training courses and certifications on an annual basis
Must be able and willing to successfully complete Title 31 annual training
Must be at least 21 years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

Physical Requirements
Ability to work for continuous time periods in extreme heat and cold
Regularly walk, stand, stoop or sit at a desk or table

Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
