Role Summary:
This position directly reports to the Senior Director, Security & Fire, has a dotted line reporting function to Plant Management, and is responsible for the overall direction and management for security at the production plant, which includes the protection of employees, corporate assets and business operations. The position-holder strategically directs and supervises implementation of policies, guidelines and work instructions to coordinate a secure work environment for the area of responsibility and in accordance with Group Security guidelines (Group Policy 13) and security minimum standards.
This role requires frequent independent decision-making and decision-making authority on specific security issues, has budget creation responsibility, and includes regular engagement with management functions, including Plant Management, VWGoA management and Group Security.
Role Responsibilities:
Main responsibility
Develops, implements, controls and continuously improves all security-relevant concepts, plans and protection measures at the plant in accordance with Group Security guidelines and minimum standards and in response to specific plant security needs
Supervises, trains and directs all contracted security management operations at the plant, including:
o Technical Security Specialist
o Security guards
o National Emergency Operations Center (24/7 command center)
Ensures efficient resource and fiscal management of site-security related budgets
Prepares and oversees RFQs for plant security services (guarding, installation of security equipment, etc.). Ensures quality control in contractor selection and that RFQ procedures align with Group Security standards
Drives innovation projects for improvement of security measures and cost efficiency
Coordinates and supports security operations activities in case of incidents, including liaising with emergency and law enforcement authorities
Serves as Incident Leader for emergency and crisis situations at plant; develops, maintains and executes Emergency Action Plans for such situations
Coordinates with other members of Security & Fire Team on topics such as event and executive protection, investigations, prototype protection, etc.
Participates in relevant internal and external committees, working groups, associations, etc.
Establishes and leverages internal and external partnerships to continually improve plant security and asset protection standards and objectives
Strategic support functions
Develops and implements documentation, measuring and reporting processes for the areas of responsibility
Plans and oversees security risk assessment/audit program for the plant
Develops and implements strategic security communications activities for area of responsibility
Observes and assesses the development of the overall security situation and possible effects on plant operations, and initiates protective counter-measures as appropriate or necessary.
Provide regular reports to Senior Director and Plant Management on activities, projects and incidents

Specialized Skills
Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience working in the field of security management, security operations, or security technology, etc.
Relevant experience in managing security teams in a large industrial environment
Strong knowledge of law enforcement, fire/medical response procedures, and security assessment/audit programs
Specialized Skills
Relevant ASIS Certification
Other internationally recognized security management certification
Technical expertise in security tools and systems
