Job Summary

  • The Security Investigator will use their knowledge and expertise in conducting investigations in order to minimize potential liability against the company and in reducing the risks of exposure to civil liability.

  • The Security Investigator position exists to investigate complaints of criminal activity and/or employee misconduct. This will result in incidents being cleared by arrest, employee termination or suspension, or by being cleared as unfounded or closed due to lack of evidence, thereby reducing the companies risk of exposure to civil liability.

  • The performance of the Security Investigator position will be measured by monitoring the investigator ability to work a case from beginning to completion. Also, to be measured will be the investigators abilities to form working relationships with individuals from other departments, to form working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and in establishing and maintaining database for later retrieval of information.

Responsibilities

  • The Security Investigator will conduct investigations and gather intelligence to detect unlawful conduct or violations of the company by team members or others, as directed by the Security Shift Manager or Director of Security.

  • The Security Investigator will interact with Security Team Members from other properties and other Atlantic City Security departments.

  • The Security Investigator will communicate with other departments as needed with regard to investigations.

  • The Security Investigator will conduct surveillance through E-Connect and other means as necessary in accordance with investigative circumstance.

  • The Security Investigator must demonstrate the ability to effectively conduct both a formal and informal conclusive interview.

  • The Security Investigator will review and make copies of video surveillance as required and disseminate per company guidelines.

  • The Security Investigator will prepare reports and evidence for use in legal actions, coordinating with the property and personnel, local, state and federal law enforcement.

  • The Security Investigator will be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week, and as such, will respond to the property at the request of the Security Shift Manager or Director of Security.

  • The Security Investigator will represent the company and provide factual testimony at property Board of Reviews, and Municipal Court hearings.

  • The Security Investigator will manage and participate in internal integrity checks, as warranted.

  • The Security Investigator will maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • The Security Investigator must be willing to comply with long flexible hours during the course of an investigation.

  • The Security Investigator will track, analyze and maintain an incident database of trends and patterns to develop a proactive course of action, and will communicate trends and intelligence with all company investigative personnel.

  • Manages day to day security operation during a shift.

  • Manages, trains and monitors performance of direct reports.

  • Specifically directs and delegates responsibilities to subordinates to provide physical security and safety of all our guests, employees and company property.

  • Ensures that security personnel are properly uniformed and stations and areas are properly maintained and secured.

  • Ensures staff is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures staff upholds the Family Style Service model at all times.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Physical, Mental and environmental Demands

  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 90 degrees, or in cold lower than 10 degrees.

  • Must be able to physically restrain individuals when conditions of arrest exists.

  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and team member issues.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.

  • Must be able to see an, also, remember specific details of incidents and persons. Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports. The Security Investigator responds to visual and oral cues, and must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.

  • Prior experience in a position with direct guest contact is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

  • A thorough knowledge of accepted gaming, cash handling and Security procedures

  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programs.

  • Must be able to secure a New Jersey KEY license as a condition of employment.

  • Must have a current and valid New Jersey Driver's License.

  • Must possess investigative and analytical skills

  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervisor.
