The new Division of Campus Community Safety (DCCS) unifies front-line public safety units across the University for a holistic approach to campus community safety, innovation in approaches, and clarity in leadership responsibility and accountability. Key units include UW Emergency Management, SafeCampus and the Seattle campus UW Police Department. Division staff work daily in partnership with units across and outside the UW system to both create safer, welcoming campus environments, prepare for potential natural or human-made disasters, and respond appropriately to incidents.
UW Police Department's Campus Facility Security Program has an outstanding opportunity for a Security Guard. The purpose of the Campus Facility Security Program is to enhance the safety of students and personnel at the University of Washington by providing safety and security patrols to campus facilities and areas where assigned. Security Guards also facilitate the overall security of the campus by conducting regular foot patrols, throughout assigned campus buildings, and providing general security services at other locations on campus.

UWPD is very proud to be one of only eight (8) police agencies in Washington State and THE only University police department internationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. ("CALEA"), the law enforcement accreditation program requires agencies to comply with over 460 standards in six (6) basic areas: policy and procedures; administration; operations and support services; traffic operations; and auxiliary services.
