The University of Valley Forge invites applications for the role of unarmed Security Guard.

Job Description

• This position is to be part of a team that provides 24/7/365 security coverage. The security guard reports to the Director of Security.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Patrol the campus, conducting safety and security checks.

• Reports and investigates any suspicious people or vehicles.

• Responds to student requests for assistance.

• Summons police or ambulance when appropriate for incidents that occur on campus.

• Monitor surveillance cameras.

Requirements:

• Law enforcement, security or military experience preferred.

• Valid driver's license.

• Be physically able to perform duties including walking, running, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly organized.

• Understanding of security protocol.

• Adept decision-making skills.

• Detail oriented.

• Able to investigate potential problems and intervene in hostile situations.

• Work proactively, rather than reactively.
