MOESC is seeking qualified applicants for a part time School Security Guard at the Regional Achievement Acadamy in Tinton Falls, NJ for the 2024-25 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree or higher preferred.

• Must demonstrate an aptitude and competence to carry out the duties of the position.

• AED / CPR Certified preferred

• Three or more years of experience in law enforcement, emergency response, military or security related field

• Be in good physical condition.

• Hold or obtain a Driver's License.

REPORTS TO: Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in maintaining order by monitoring entrances and exits, corridors, lavatories, cafeteria, grounds, other non-teaching areas and teaching areas.

• Investigate complaints, suspicious behavior, improper conditions or any other occurrences that would endanger school personnel, students, and/or school property and equipment.

• Take appropriate action with regard to unusual occurrences and/or other conditions.

• Report significant incidents and unusual conditions immediately to the Principal or her designee.

• Attend safety and security meetings and in-service training sessions as requested.

• Direct internal and external pedestrian traffic.

• Direct and/or escort all visitors to the proper destinations in the building.

• Assist administrative staff in quieting and controlling disturbing or troublesome conditions.

• Attend class trips as needed

• Check buildings for security purposes.

• Consult on emergency procedures for crisis scenarios, inclusive of the development of plans and strategies to prevent and/or minimize dangerous situations on or near school(s) campus or involving students at school-related activities.

• Perform as conduit between the Superintendent, Principal, other administrators, staff, and the Tinton Falls Police Department on school safety issues and incidents.

• Document reported incidents of safety/security violations.

• Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallway, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.

• Assist with supervision in the breakfast and lunch periods and with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal of students.

• Assist with de-escalation of students exhibiting disruptive behaviors when needed and appropriate.

• Perform all other duties deemed necessary by the administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, 10 months

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
