Position Title: Security Guard I

Location: Denton, TX

Reports To: Area Supervisor

Shift: 1st shift

Pay Grade- DH03

Job Summary:

The security guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees, vendors, and visitors on the company premises as well as overseeing and protecting company assets.

Job Specifications:

• Monitors and secures entrance and exit points including dock areas
• Authorize entrance of people and vehicles
• Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings (ID badges and passes)
• Operates X-ray, body imaging scanner and metal detecting equipment
• Inspects all employees and visitors to be sure proper identification is visible and following the jewelry and metal policy
• Monitors CCTV video surveillance cameras
• Monitors door alarms
• Answer incoming phone calls and use of a paging system
• Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
• Enforce established security policies
• Report non-routine or suspicious activities to management
• Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy
• Trained in First Aid
• Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas
• Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures
• Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
• Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have
• Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed

Job Requirements:

• Previous security-related work experience > 1 Year required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Excellent communication and customer service
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods of time
• Working knowledge of basic security techniques
• Must be available to work overtime including Saturdays as required
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
