This person provides security and safety to customers and employees. In order to adequately protect people and property, security guards must know and enforce rules and regulations to prevent criminal activity before it happens. They may monitor points of access in a building or property to allow entry only to individuals with the correct identification or authorization. They walk amongst visitors to promote order and provide a visible presence that deters safety issues.

Essential Duties

Security

  • Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property regularly; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry

  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.

  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and evict violators from premises.

  • Guard courier vehicles after arrival and delivery of product and valuables to prevent theft and ensure safe delivery.

  • Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Report any security or compliance issue or situation to the direct supervisor.

Supervision

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Manager of Retail Compliance and Corporate Security. This person does not supervise employees directly.

Job Qualifications

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' security, safety, or related experience.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail, production environment with diverse clientele preferred.

  • Demonstrated safety, security, risk management, and client service capabilities.

  • Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Colorado Department of Labor Marijuana Enforcement Division.

  • Must pass a criminal Background check.

  • Must have clean background with no felonies.

  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills.

  • Experience with conflict resolution.

  • Customer service skills.

  • Ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends.

Education

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • 2-year college degree or related college coursework preferred.

Proven success in the following job competencies

  • Strong oral and written communication capabilities.

  • Ability to work with team members, clientele to manage risk and ensure compliance.

  • Strong orientation to teamwork and collaboration, ability to partner with managers on operational matters.

  • Ability to deal with and resolve problems in a professional manner.

Working Conditions

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment

  • Able to perform general office managerial and administrative activities.

  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Regular and on-time attendance.

  • Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.

  • Occasional travel by conventional means to other locations as required.

VIEW JOBS 3/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-07T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY The Dispatcher is an essential component of the HSS Security Operations Center (SOC) which operates 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The SOC provides critical on-demand service to HSS customers through centralized coordination of all security services. As the first point of contact for HSS clients, the successful candidate will be able to balance excellent customer service with the ability to handle emergency situations quickly and decisively. The Dispatcher will be responsible for the safety and security of multiple healthcare facilities in multiple US States. Specific responsibilities include: emergency and non-emergency call taking, intrusion and duress alarm monitoring, and viewing CCTV footage from multiple locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES * Answers, documents, and dispatches all incoming calls for Security Services according to established protocols in a prompt manner. * Thoroughly and accurately documents/enters all calls to enable security officers to complete their duties within the established time frames. * Monitor CCTV footage from multiple facilities and perform regular "virtual patrols" of said facilities. Report any irregularities to the appropriate security personnel. * Maintains a professional demeanor and adheres to established dispatch protocols at all times * Follows specific procedures for individual facilities. * Monitors and dispatches alarms that terminate into the SOC. * Makes notifications as quickly as possible to prevent injury to employees or damage and loss of property to clients. * Assists with scheduling when central scheduling is off duty in order to keep all facilities properly staffed. * Monitors and answers emergency help phones and access control systems at client facilities. * Reports all system problems in a timely fashion. * Works and interacts with other employees, drivers, officers, customers, supervisors, guests, medical personnel, and possibly patients. * Other duties as assigned. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides OSC with on call support as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or GED * 2 years of customer service and/or call center experience * Previous dispatch or security experience preferred * Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) * Clear and effective phone skills * Proficiency with office computers and Microsoft Office software * Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm * Ability to work as part of a team * Excellent customer service aptitude * Ability to multi-task and remain organized * Ability to remain calm under pressure PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position, individual may be required to sit for extended periods using computer and telephone equipment in a typical office setting. May lift and carry up to 10 lbs. Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis and formulation.
