Classification: Health and SafetyTitle: Security GuardEffective July 1, 2006, a post-offer physical and drug screening test is required for this position

Job Goal: To provide our students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become life-long learners and responsible citizens by: Assisting in a supervisor capacity providing for security and protection of students, staff and property

Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentSome knowledge of or training in security procedures and practicesExcellent health and physical condition; able to run if necessaryAbility to work on a flexible scheduleGood human relations skillsKnowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules

Core Job Functions:Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent substance abuse, fighting, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry and exitLearns names of individual students in order to assist with campus controlConfronts unauthorized persons for questioning; routes or detains them; calls police for assistance according to emergency action planReports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing or electrical systemsPatrols school grounds to detect and require correction of unauthorized and improperly parked vehiclesMakes written reports of security violationsDirects and controls vehicle traffic on district property when necessaryAssists staff with student conductPerforms related duties as requestedPerforms all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed
