Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining a secure environment for all residents and associates within the building and on the community grounds. Greets visitors, monitors the inside and outside of the building, and responds to emergencies.

Greets and monitors visitors and residents coming and going from the building. Logs all residents and visitors in and out. Monitors the inside and outside of the building and the parking lot; reports any abnormal findings to the Executive Director or to the proper authorities as the situation dictates. Locks doors at designated time, according to community protocol. Checks the security of all doors regularly throughout the night. Maintains familiarity with and monitors all emergency and safety equipment including security cameras, phones, and life safety systems. Responds appropriately to emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties, according to established protocol. Assists with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations (i.e. fires, hurricanes, etc.). Answers the phone promptly. Responds to questions, directs calls, or takes messages as appropriate. Escorts residents and visitors to the parking lot during evening hours, as requested. May be required to handle leasing inquiries after hours and on weekends, making sure that accurate and timely information is provided to the Director of Sales & Marketing. Drives the bus or community vehicle as needed or as scheduled. Handles minor maintenance emergencies (i.e. plugged toilets, reset breakers, replace light bulbs, etc.) as needed. Ensures the lobby and administrative offices are vacuumed, and kept clean and neat. Notifies housekeeping if cleaning is needed. Interacts with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner, providing assistance and directions as requested.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsFire Safety and Basic CPR/First Aid training. For positions that require travel between locations or thetransportation of residents, associate must have a valid driver's license.

Management/Decision MakingMakes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.

Knowledge and SkillsHas a basic level of a skill and can follow written or verbal instructions. Has basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties. Has a basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions.

As a Security Officer, you would play a critical role in helping us provide security and safety for all Scentsy employees, facilities, and product. Our Security Officers are also responsible for ensuring security and safety protocols are followed at all Scentsy facilities, by all employees and guests. In addition, this person will also provide assistance with basic maintenance and janitorial projects. What You Would Do: * Patrol Scentsy facilities on foot, in vehicle, and by camera * Provide parking lot security for employees arriving and leaving Scentsy facilities * Monitor security and safety protocols, ensuring they are properly followed * Handle activation/deactivation of employee access badges * Investigate accidents and security incidents * Assist employees, Scentsy leaders, consultants, and guests with a high level of customer service * Assist Facilities team with various maintenance and janitorial tasks and projects * Remove trash from in and around the interior and exterior of all Company buildings and grounds * Maintain building space in a clean, organized, and orderly fashion * Coordinate the ordering of office and janitorial supply needs for facility; restock supplies in common areas as needed * Participate in security preparation for off-site Scentsy events * Coordinate janitorial and maintenance work with vendors as needed * Sweep floors, clean spills, and operate trash compactor as needed * Assist team members with projects as needed * Set up, arrange, and remove tables, chairs, ladders, scaffolding, and decorations to prepare facilities for events * Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems * Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed You Should Have: * High school diploma or GED * CPR Certification or ability to obtain * Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required * Some security or closely related experience preferred * Basic facilities maintenance experience preferred * Previous customer service experience a plus * Must maintain a positive attitude * Must maintain a clean and safe work environment You Should Be Able To: * Maintain confidential information * Follow instructions * Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company * Must be flexible to work other shifts in order to accommodate department needs * Team player and ability to work well with others * Work 40+ hours per week; some overtime may be required * Communicate effectively with a wide variety of people while maintaining a professional demeanor * Excellent customer service skills * Willingly to administer first aid, CPR, and AED to Scentsy employees and guests * Physically restrain a violent subject * Operate a vehicle * Perform multiple tasks at any given time * Execute assigned projects with minimal supervision * Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools * Must have working knowledge of computers and all applicable software including security equipment, radio, as well as standard office equipment * Accurately enter data into computer programs including the badging system * Stay calm and think clearly in stressful situations * Wear proper safety equipment as necessary; gloves, safety glasses, mask, etc. * Occasional travel may be required * Frequently bend, sit, squat, stand, walk, climb, push, pull, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, and lift loads up to 50 lbs. –some running may be required * Frequently read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze Scentsy Lexington KY
