Security Engineer - Infrastructure

The Meta security organization is seeking a passionate and experienced Infrastructure Security Engineer to help us grow the maturity of the software and services underpinning everything Meta makes today and in the future. We strive to go beyond just identifying security vulnerabilities and flaws by helping teams fix issues before they are live in production and automatically preventing security problems during the development process to eliminate entire classes of vulnerabilities.

Security Engineer - Infrastructure Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize areas of improvement to the security maturity of our infrastructure

Improve infrastructure security maturity at scale by directly designing, implementing, and building solutions

Partner with cross-functional infrastructure teams to ensure security maturity work is being prioritized and addressed

Eliminate classes of infrastructure security problems by shifting the detection and preventions left into the development workflow

Provide architectural, design, and threat-based guidance to software development teams to improve the security maturity before code is written

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years work experience securing enterprise-scale infrastructure software and services
  2+ years work experience writing code in Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++ (or similar language)

Experience getting infrastructure security problems fixed using influence and relationships

Experience in reviewing distributed systems design and conducting threat model assessment of infrastructure software and services

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in security-focused software engineering, security engineering, and/or building internal-facing security products

Broad knowledge of the infrastructure security domain

$105,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
