As a Security Engineer at Sequoia, you will join our Security Team and lead the Security Operations Center (SOC) function, develop and document monitoring policies, monitor security event activity, and support incident response and investigations using a variety of frameworks and technologies. You will have the opportunity to interact with many functional teams, build strong relationships, and improve the data protection capability of the organization.

What You Get to Do

  • Manage a variety of security tools, including the SIEM, and configure log sources

  • Triage and manage incidents and configure security tools to remediate incidents

  • Develop use cases, policies, and procedures to operate the SOC and monitor security events across multiple platforms and technologies

  • Collect data, analyze, detect, prevent, and respond to cybersecurity incidents

  • Identify areas of improvement, automate, and handle process exceptions and escalations when necessary

  • Perform threat hunting and modeling, malware, IOC and vulnerability analysis

  • Defend the network and systems, perform computer forensics and reverse engineering

  • Document processes and procedures and communicate those to functional teams and external parties


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Strong experience with SIEM solutions; Qradar in particular is preferred

  • Detail-oriented and must enjoy analyzing data and performing investigations based on log reviews

  • Strong networking experience (TCP/IP), firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, O365, Okta, EDR

  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration, Wireshark, Kali Linux, Metasploit, nmap, Burp suite

  • Knowledgeable in security control frameworks (SOC 2, ISO27001/2, NIST)

  • Very detail oriented and good awareness of cyber threats motivated and with strong organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong documentation, customer service and communication skills

  • Innovative and able to reach and collaborate with other team members and functional teams

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
