About the role

Robinhood is seeking to hire a Security Engineer to join our security team.

In this role you will:

  • Help manage our bug bounty program

  • Assist with audit and development of security critical code

  • Perform application assessments across all of Robinhood's applications

  • Build detection and monitoring for attacks on the application or infrastructure

  • Write new security software tools/frameworks/scanners to make secure software development better at Robinhood

Some things we consider critical for this role:

  • Strong foundation in computer and network security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography

  • Knowledge of network-based and system-level attacks and mitigation methods

  • Familiarity with at least some of the following: Python, Go, Obj-C, C, bash

  • Familiarity with log formats and intrusion detection systems for Linux based systems

Some things that would be amazing to have for this role:

  • Experience as a Security Researcher or Engineer

  • Experience in web app security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing

Your deep systems, database and security knowledge will provide you an opportunity to design and deploy reliable applications at scale with a security first mindset. Everything is at with scale, with 100's of databases, applications and PetaBytes of data, providing the foundation for our financial and enterprise transactions. DATABASE ENGINEER - SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES * Build, scale, and secure Facebook's finance and enterprise applications running on various RDBMS databases like Oracle and MySQL Secure business flows by developing a fluent detection and alerting framework. Design and automate security solutions that detect security flaws across our internal and vendor applications, before it becomes an issue Implement end to end TLS across all applications Implement standards that assure regulatory compliance, including SOX, GDPR & FTC Guide developers on security best practices and develop tools and automation to implement Develop a security framework that can be applied across 100's of systems Write and review code, debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the most complex financial systems Be a champion in automation, Automate yourself out Work collaboratively with industry leading peers in infrastructure, network, security and application development MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * B.S. in Computer Science, or a related field 4+ years of experience supporting large scale systems, including database, application and network layers 3+ years experience implementing security frameworks across database, application and network layers 4+ years database administration experience managing large scale database systems 4+ years system administration experience in Linux platforms, with storage and networking experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with Oracle E-business suite, Oracle FMW, and BI tools like Incorta, Tableau Strong experience in Oracle Exadata, RAC infrastructure, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate Strong knowledge in database performance tuning and troubleshooting Experience working with virtualized environments (VmWare/Openstack) Expert knowledge in configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible and any other languages used in system tooling (e.g. Ruby, Perl) Experience with common open source monitoring tools Influx, Grafana, ELK etc. Experience with systems automation tooling, preferably Chef, Ansible or equivalent Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
