Security Engineer (Cloud) (Hybrid)

Job Description

SUMMARY

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud-based systems and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect our organization's data and assets. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud security best practices, as well as hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

This is a hybrid position reporting into our Raleigh, NC HQ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and implement cloud security strategies, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of cloud environments. Design and deploy security controls to safeguard cloud-based applications and data. Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle. Stay updated on emerging threats and industry best practices in cloud security. Provide guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• 2-3 years of experience with Azure or AWS environment

• Build automation to actively audit the infrastructure for security misconfigurations by using cloud-native policies/scripts.

• Work closely with the Product Engineering, Platform and Security Architecture teams to engineer and implement cloud security controls with a focus on DevSecOps.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and deployment models

• Hands-on experience with cloud security tools and technologies (e.g., IAM, KMS, WAF, SIEM)

• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud services such as AWS EC2, Azure VM, VPC, Vnet, Network Security Groups, DBs, and Cloud storage.

• Ability to design and implement secrets management solutions in cloud environments, including hands-on experience in building out systems utilizing tools such as AWS Secrets Manager or Azure Key Vault

• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CSA

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

• Experience in CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, IaC like Terraform added advantage.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Graduation in engineering/IT or related field
• 7+ years of experience in Information Security

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• GIAC or (ISC)2 Certifications Preferred
• CISSP, CCSP
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• AWS Certified Security - Specialty
• MCSE Certification in Windows Server, Database, and/or Cloud Preferred
