THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and protecting Seyfarth Shaw's technology infrastructure. You should have a thorough knowledge of malware analysis, cloud security, and identity protection. You must be able to adopt the hacker mindset to anticipate and defend the firm against cyber security threats.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with our lawyers, IT colleagues, and external service providers on a variety of projects and requests. You will:

  • Excel as a self-starter in our fast-paced environment, exercising independent judgment and demonstrating a commitment to security excellence.

  • Assist in analyzing threat data from various sources, including logs, network traffic, and endpoints, to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) associated with cyberthreats.

  • Review end-user security incidents, such as phishing, malicious URLs, and Business Email Compromise (BEC) incidents and notify appropriate parties.

  • Provide logs and reports in response to requests and investigations.

  • Take the lead in telemetry assurance and management of endpoint security monitoring agents, with a focus on reliability and coverage. Collaborate with endpoint support teams on the performance and effectiveness of security clients.

  • Work with IT teams to enhance system visibility and logging capabilities.

  • Collaborate with team members, peers, and business unit management teams to address technical information security requirements and coordinate remediation efforts.

YOU HAVE:

  • Minimum three years of information security experience, with a very strong technical background.

  • Knowledge of security operations tools including SIEM and EDR.

  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret log data from diverse sources, including network and endpoint logs, to identify patterns indicative of security incidents and potential vulnerabilities.

  • Strong understanding of common cyber-attack techniques, such as phishing, malware propagation, lateral movement, and data exfiltration.

  • Azure and SaaS security; cloud incident investigation experience.

  • Detail-oriented, thorough and analytical, with capability to apply logic to solve problems.

  • Initiative to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills.

  • Passionate about protecting organizations and tireless drive to improve security.
