  • Serve as the subject matter expert in Cisco Security Solutions

  • Provide guidance and assist account teams within the territory in building solutions to address specific customer security needs

  • Work with technology experts to help them position Cisco's security solutions effectively against competing offerings.

  • Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major account opportunities

  • Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements

  • Understand and articulate Cisco's architectures and services within Security technologies

  • Craft, present and document technical solutions

  • Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects

  • Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e.

  • technical consulting, upper level management presentations, and Cisco technology solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership

Who You'll Work With

In this role as Security Consulting Systems Engineer, you will provide guidance and assist account teams with in the territory in building solutions to address specific customer security needs. In this position you will be working with technology authorities to help them position Cisco's security solutions effectively against other competing offerings.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 7+ years of technical sales or pre-sales experience with 5+ years in Security specialization experience with Email Security, IDS/IPS, AV, Firewall, Advanced Malware Protection technologies

  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent highly preferred

  • Pre-sales experience required

  • Successful quota achievement

  • Consistent track record or managing and winning technical and high value IT security projects

  • Experience of administering Unix/Linux systems, low-layer (packet-level) IP networking and have a thorough understanding of network security

  • Solid presentation and social skills

  • Commercial awareness and interpersonal skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter that does not need day-to-day management

  • Desirable experience including press experience, delivering training courses, prior experience with Cisco/Sourcefire security technologies, experience with programming languages such as UNIX shell, Perl or C

Responsibilities for this Position We are seeking a highly motivated Information Systems Security Professional to join our team's Bloomington, MN office. This person will perform the tasks of an Information Systems Security Professional for multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs. Candidates must be knowledgeable of information technology and security principles. This is a multi-tasking environment that demands customer service, communication, and organizational skills. The candidate will support information system life cycle activities from rapidly establishing systems to support classified proposals, to scoping systems for new programs and preparing Risk Management Framework packages, to regular maintenance, support and upgrades of systems during program execution, to program close-out and de-certification activities. Duties also may include: Serve as Information Systems Security Professional for classified computers in DoD and Intelligence Community computing environments. Maintain day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of IS including security event log review and analysis. Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies. Provide configuration management and accurately assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system. Design, develop, and recommend integrated security solutions for multiple classified IS with various operating systems. Prepare and maintain security Assessment and Authorization documentation (e.g., IA SOP, SSP, RAR, SCTM) including participation in system categorization. Ensure the development, documentation, and presentation of IS security education, awareness, and training activities for users and others, as appropriate. Apply cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to classified computing environments. Investigate security incidents to include data spills, data integrity incidents, and malicious code incidents. Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies, provide configuration management and accurately assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system. Conduct reviews and technical inspections to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, and ensure that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional. Provide support to other cybersecurity personnel for maintaining appropriate operation information assurance (IA) posture for programs. Collaborate with other IAI offices to ensure continuity of secure systems operation.
