Duties

As a Security Assistant, you will:

  • Perform a wide variety of analytical, technical and administrative duties and provide highly confidential assistant support to the Branch Manager, Director, other Management staff, Investigators and staff specialists on a wide range of issues across the entire spectrum of the security branch.

  • Participate in various studies and projects concerning the design, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced operating procedures, or automation of existing manual procedures.

  • Serve as a technical authority and point-of-contact within the Division in conjunction with Contractor, and

create PIV records in the HRConnect, USAccess system, and Employee Onboarding entailing the processing, sponsorship and maintenance of HSPD-12 compliant actions. The incumbent researches and interprets internal and external guidelines to obtain and verify the sponsorship information with the COR, HR Staffing Specialist and/or the applicant.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Bureau's Homeland Security Presidential Directive HSPD-12 Program, providing oversight of core program functions, ensuring that program goals are achieved and timeframes for delivery are met.

  • Serve as property custodian in support of division-level asset management, coordinating and overseeing all branch activities

  • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-06 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes experience performing specialized clerical and/or administrative support duties in a defined functional or program area; developing information, identifying interrelationships, and taking action consistent with objectives of the program and customer needs.

Examples of such experience could include:

  • Experience applying a standardized body of rules and procedures sufficient to perform a wide range of administrative support duties, using an automated system OR
  • Experience preparing reports, financial or data collection, for the business unit and advising management of findings OR
  • Experience providing written and/or oral technical and problem solving support to customers and staff, including other branches or divisions OR
  • Experience identifying deficiencies, interpreting resources such as laws, regulations and policies and applying the appropriate guidelines to resolve issues.
