Security And AV Technician

Primary Purpose:

Perform technical work to install, maintain, repair, and support security systems, including security cameras and door access control, audio/visual sytems, including PA and bell systems or sound systems, and other related systems as applicable. Respond to Technology support ticket requests for technology issues and needs in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Associates degree or higher preferred

Must be able to successfully meet security clearance requirements in compliance with Texas Criminal

Justice Information System (CJIS) access policy which also includes DPS background checks through the Texas Education Agency and Law Enforcement Agency.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Advanced knowledge of Windows computer workstation setup

Advanced Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications

Knowledge of Windows Servers

Knowledge of TCP/IP network communication

Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain network cables and hardware

Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs

Knowledge of security camera and door control systems is preferred

Knowledge of PA and bell systems is preferred

Knowledge of sound systems and other audio/visual systems is preferred

Experience:

Minimum three years' work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals

Experience with security systems and audio/visual systems is preferred.
