Security Analyst

Overview

The Security Analyst II position:

• Assists with designing and implementing information security standards for the organization's applications and databases in order to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.

• Understands basic internet architecture and firewall configuration to protect the organization's system security.

• Collaborates with a security team to provide application development, database design, and network maintenance support.

• Assists with researching and advocating for the latest technologies and solutions that support security requirements for internal and external customers.

• Supports analyzing, investigating, and recommending ways to improve security technologies for the organization by monitoring data trends.

• Stays abreast of current malware and other potential internet security threats to apply to the organization.

The Security Analyst II position would work with products in the following areas:

• Operational Security - file transfer, vendor remote support, SOAR, SIEM, endpoint protection, certificate management

• Vulnerability Management - vulnerability scanner, DevSecOps products

• Data Protections - CASB and database management

• Network Security - firewalls, client VPNs, NAC

Responsibilities

Interfaces with other Information and Technology Services teams to ensure infomation security related procedures and configurations are followed, updated and implemented.--------------------------------------------------Provides general support for all IT activities related to data and information security.--------------------------------------------------Provides specific support for information security through execution of manual processes or creation and monitoring of automated procedures.--------------------------------------------------Works with team members to maintain IT systems security applications, configurations and programs.--------------------------------------------------

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Required:Bachelor's degree with 3 years? experience in relevant field, or Associate's degree with 8 years' experience in relevant field, or High school diploma with 13 years' experience in relevant field.Preferred:Bachelor?s degree in computer science, programming, analytics or other technical field.

EXPERIENCE:Required:3 years experience in information systems or business-related internships or employment experiences required

Preferred:Prior work experience with the following information systems technologies highly desirable:? Desktop applications (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, etc.)? Databases (MS-Access, MS SQL, Oracle, etc.) ? Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, AIX).

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDValid Driver's License | Valid Driver's LicensePREFERREDPreferred:CISSP certification or equivalent (or eligibility for certification) within two years of starting the position.(Eligibility for certification is defined as having a passing grade on pre-certification exam.)
