Performs duties in support of University Health System and Information Services Information Asset Security policies. Provides identity and management support to end users through administration and maintenance of individual userids and passwords to promote individual accountability on all of UHS' Information Systems.

Implements appropriate security access to approved users utilizing role-based access methodology. Responds to security requests and manages incoming work to meet established deadlines. Supports information security procedures to safeguard against inadvertent disclosure of confidential data and unauthorized access to computing environments.

Establishes efficient processes for provisioning and deprovisioning user accounts and implements role based access controls within a highly complex system infrastructure. Promotes the University Health Systems guest relations policy.


High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Five or more years of experience in information technology is required.

Three or more years of experience in information security is preferred. At least two years of Active Directory and application level security is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-16T00:00 Job Details POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for leading and designing cross-technology release management, process design, optimization and policy. Release management oversees the process by which the Epic production environment is updated, upgraded and maintained. The release engineer is the critical liaison between application development and production for release management control. As a release engineer you are expected to develop, analyzes, and maintains tools that support and automate processes for software release. Provide internal project management and status updates. Writes installation scripts and programs for installation and products. Organizes and schedules a variety of major and/or complex computer system tasks, including programming, in a timely and proficient manner and in compliance with departmental and University Health System policies and procedures. Individual must maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and other UHS staff and perform other duties as assigned or defined in the performance evaluation and in the UHS policies and procedures. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Four years' college level work toward a degree in computer science or data processing or the equivalent in experience or training is required. Bachelor's degree in one of the above areas is preferred. Minimum five-year's experience in a related field is required. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred. Experience conducting release and environment readiness reviews, Milestones reviews, and business go/no-go reviews. Work experience is required, using one or more of each of the following: Applications: Epic, PeopleSoft, Lawson or any ERP system, Softmed, 3M, Onbase, Portal, Soft Lab, Pharmacy, RIS, Eclipsys, Quavodex Databases: Oracle, Mumps, SQL, Sybase Operating Systems: Windows 2008, 10, UNIX, Cache University Health System San Antonio TX
