Securities Operations Analyst

Position Overview

RGA Investments is a global asset manager based in St. Louis, with operations in London, Hong Kong and Singapore; in addition, ReCap Commercial operates in North America. RGA Investments includes seven core areas: Global Portfolio Management, Investment Solutions, Credit Research and Trading, Commercial Real Estate, Private Debt and Equity, Strategic Execution, and Investment Operations.

The Securities Operations team plays a critical role in the investment life cycle. The team is responsible for supporting all key asset strategies, such as fixed income, middle market bank loans, direct senior, mezzanine, and private equity, equity real estate joint ventures, commercial mortgage loans, and lifetime mortgages. The Analyst will perform crucial day-to-day functions of the firm's $67 billion global, multi-asset class portfolio managed both internally and externally to support Portfolio Management, Investment Solutions, Trading, and Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support daily processing functions such as trade support including trade matching and confirmation, security delivery and cash settlements, trade allocation, wire processing, corporate actions, and collateral management.

• Perform daily par and cash reconciliations across the portfolio and forecast cash sources and uses.

• Interact and build relationships externally with clients, brokers, counterparties, and custodian banks.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Investment's front, middle, and back office as well as with RGA corporate partners (i.e., IT, Accounting, Structured Finance, etc.).

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math or equivalent field AND 2+ years investment securities related work experience including work with global and domestic securities operations processing OR
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, or equivalent field

Preferred:

• Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge

• Experience using the BlackRock Aladdin trade order management system, OYSAS, and Bloomberg

• Knowledge of MT SWIFT messaging

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of broad investments business practices

• Intermediate knowledge of security operation functions

• Technology savvy, programming, and process improvement/automation skills

• Intermediate investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent organizational ability, being able to multi-task, effectively manage tasks and projects, adapt to new methods, and work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions

• Intermediate oral and written communication skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel

• Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/ team projects

• Intermediate ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/ accepted solutions

• Intermediate skills in customer relationship management and change management

• Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functions, and technical disciplines

• Knowledge of accounting theory and practices

State of Colorado: This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $73K - $85K base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA compensation includes an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and maintains a full range of competitive health and life insurance, retirement, and other employee benefits.
