Agency Lending: US Equity Trader

State Street's Securities Finance (SF) division encompasses three products: Agency Lending, Enhanced Custody (EC), and Alternative Financing Solutions (AFS). These products allow State Street clients to generate income, facilitate short sales, or generate financing through the lending and borrowing of securities.
The Agency Lending product is a long-established business and State Street is considered an industry leader in this space. It is a $3.97 trillion global business that generates liquidity for global financial markets and additional yield for clients. Clients lend unutilized securities to a borrower in return for other securities or cash collateral and the borrower pays a basis point fee for the duration of the loan.
This role resides on the US Equity Agency Lending desk in Securities Finance. This group is responsible for the distribution and pricing of all equity loans in the US market. The role will be dually focused with responsibilities for both trading the day to day book and also providing quantitative analysis of the lending program.
This position also grants access to the State Street Numerates Network (S2N2) which is distributed group across the firm with the purpose of developing talent. Participation in this group provides senior mentorship, exclusive events and specialized training. It promotes cross-pollination of ideas in quantitative disciplines and paves the way for mobility and opportunities around the firm.
Distribution and pricing of new/existing loans
Generate superior Return to Lendable for our client base by optimizing revenue through a combination of utilization and price
Build and maintain strong broker relationships
Creative thinking around new trading structures, strategies and collateral types in an effort to help State Street be the premier agent lender in the market
Work in conjunction with our business partners to develop a data aggregation tool from both internal/external sources in effort to increase trade level visibility and help drive trading strategy
Participation in S2N2
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related discipline
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a relevant role, preferably securities finance
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills; with the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Superior problem solving, analytical and technical skills: experience analyzing, understanding and merging large data sets to uncover correlations and construct algorithmic trading strategies; comfortable with ambiguity and able to make decisions with imperfect and missing data
