1.High School graduate or G.E.D., preferred. 2.
Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently. 3. Must be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions. 4. Two to three years of experience in an office with considerable public contact. 5. Computer experience preferred; must be able to type or keyboard at a net corrected speed of a minimum of 50 wpm. 6. Must be able to use modern office equipment including computers, microcomputers and work processing software. 7. Two to three years experience in performing general office work, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that demonstrates desired knowledge, skills and abilities. 8. Secretarial experience preferred, but not required. 9. May require bookkeeping skills. 10. Must be able to interact with students and staff.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including, but not limited to the following) 1. Maintains appointment calendars and schedules, processes mail, maintains correspondence and files, handles leave requests, and sets up conferences and processes maintenance work orders. 2.
Composes correspondence independently, takes care of office operation procedures, and maintains schedules, records and files in the absence of a Director's/Principal's Secretary. 3. Assists student helpers and operates usual office machines. 4. Types material from rough draft, prepares agenda reports, evaluations, and assigns work to others within the office. 5.
Prepares capital and supply requests, other site purchases, and tabulates budgetary transactions. 6. Communicates with Federal, State and local representatives. 7. Office management duties, receives visitors, answers inquiries, and provides information concerning site. 8.
Data entry for attendance records, calling parents and tracking of students. 9. Job location will determine specialized responsibilities. Site-specific responsibilities will be related to actual location of work duties. 10.
Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 to 20 pounds, frequently. 2.
Must be physically able to sit for extended periods of time however, will involve walking and/or standing for brief periods of time. 3. Must be physically able to perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, and the manual dexterity to operate equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of this position.
