The Opportunity
WSDOT has a great opportunity in Everett for an energetic administrative professional. As a Secretary Senior, you'll provide a wide variety of secretarial and administrative support to internal staff members and external stakeholders and play a pivotal role in the office's overall success.
This position primarily exists to perform clerical duties, timekeeping, and related functions; reports directly to the Assistant Project Engineer and the Project Engineer in a project office tasked with delivering multiple construction projects that will provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation options for the public.
What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Secretary Senior will:
Perform complex word processing tasks, utilizing word processing, database, and spreadsheet software to compose and produce memos, letters, meeting minutes, reports, forms, notifications, and sensitive materials.
Produce correspondence from verbal instruction.
Run Payroll reports for supervisors to review after each pay period has advanced.
Monitor DOTtime for time entry coding accuracy and to ensure that payroll deadlines are met.
Analyze and reconcile payroll and/ or DOTtime problems.
Purchase equipment and/ or materials needed by the team members.
Keep track of office supplies and make purchases when needed.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
Valid Driver's License.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in Microsoft Suite (including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent typing and computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
Ability to legally operate a class 1 (sedan) and a class 5 (pick-up truck) WSDOT vehicle.
