About the Position: This position is with the Department of Primary Care and is located at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. The hospital provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical services to active duty personnel, retirees and dependents.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, reviewing and maintaining a variety of mission related documents, and initiating and monitoring personnel, financial and manpower actions.

  • Planning, coordinating and performing a variety of management and administrative services.

  • Maintain the daily activity calendar for management, schedule appointments, arrange meetings, secure space, notify attendees and make any other necessary arrangements.

  • Reading, analyzing and distributing, as appropriate, electronic mail, levying tasking and suspense dates within the organization.

  • Provide technical knowledge and guidance to timekeepers to ensure that time sheet information for all civilian employees is entered timely into the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS).

  • Serve as Defense Travel System (DTS) manager for Department of Primary Care.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: experience in preparing, reviewing and maintaining a variety of mission related documents, and initiating and monitoring personnel, financial and manpower actions. Experience in maintaining close working relationships with other clerical/administrative personnel, providing guidance and assistance to facilitate administrative actions and ensure adequate responses to various management requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).

This position requires the services of a qualified typist.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
