Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Academic Secretary, Criminal Justice/Legal Studies. The selected individual will perform routine clerical and administrative functions as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining files and provide information to callers. This individual will perform duties specific to the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies programs including communicating with current and prospective students, managing departmental budgets and assisting with student registration and advisement. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
Summary of Duties:
Provide general secretarial and administrative support to assigned academic department(s)
Act as a liaison between students, instructors, and university offices
Provide accreditation support to department chair
Assist in compiling departmental academic schedules, scheduling classes and classrooms
Maintain department files, and electronic spreadsheets/databases
Assist with formatting, copying and proctoring tests
Assist with adjunct faculty hiring process
Assist in processing contracts, expense reports, purchasing, and check requests for departmental invoices and expenditures; track approval, receipt and payment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of one year office/clerical experience or other applicable experience preferred
Active member of the church of Christ
