Secondary Science Teacher

"Teach science courses to public secondary school students. Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement science presentations.

Prepare science course outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of state and school. Assign science lessons and correct homework. Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.

Keep attendance records. Meet with parents to discuss student progress. Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assist pupils in selecting course of study, and counsel students in adjustment and academic problems.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education, Secondary Education, or any related field. Requires Missouri State Teacher Certification in Biology (9-12). Demonstrated experience teaching in secondary education.
