This role has direct responsibility for secondary market activities and initiatives within Home Loans, with a balance between tactical and strategic focus that includes policy and process design. Interfacing with key bank and departmental leadership, this position will help define and implement long-term capital markets strategy that incorporates product pricing, lock desk, pipeline management, best execution analysis, interest rate risk management/hedging and delivery methods, acting as the primary contact for investor relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Perform mortgage pipeline and interest rate risk management, including hedging, to minimize market interest rate risk exposure
Define and carry out pricing & delivery strategy to achieve stable, targeted profit margins
Set street pricing and monitor for competitive positioning, taking advantage of investor price moves and owning the Product eligibility and Pricing Engine
Maximize profitability within established bounds through best-execution analysis and choice of investor delivery methods
Provide functional oversight for the lock desk and investor delivery teams
Monitor and maximize pull-through rates, reporting on commitment strategies
Manage relationships with investors, sourcing new investors, performing annual recertification process and ensuring compliance with investor requirements
Perform primary analytics on portfolio loan pools, packaged loan sales or whole loan trading
Serve as a key voice in departmental strategy and platform choices, acting as a driver of business intelligence capabilities regarding secondary
Translate knowledge of mortgage capital markets into technology driven processes and strategies
Coordinate with underwriting, servicing and sales teams on new product definition, program offerings and deployment of credit & eligibility guidelines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university and five years of Capital Markets experience, fixed income analysis, valuation or trading; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Familiarity with Mortgage-Backed Securities and experience managing relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae; Understanding of mortgage products and originations process.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distributions, determinations of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The position will be involved in some travel that will be primarily focused in Montana. In-state and out-of-state travel may occur to perform job and to obtain and/or enhance knowledge and skills.
