SEC - Staff Accountant

We are excited to add a SEC Staff Accountant to our growing Accounting & Finance team! This role will pay between $68,000 - $80,000 based on experience and educational credentials. This is a hybrid position working in our Marietta, GA headquarters Monday & Wednesday each week.

Summary

The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of SEC Reporting and will assist with the preparation of the Company's SEC filings and requisite supporting documents underlying such filings. The Staff Accountant will also assist in researching, opining, and memorializing the appropriate accounting treatment of various transactions on both a routine and as-needed basis. The Staff Accountant will assist in the maintenance of the Company's accounting policy document when novel transactions are documented or changes in accounting policy are deemed necessary because of issued Accounting Standards Updates or a preferable change. As needed, the Staff Accountant may assist with the preparation of certain journal entries as part of the Company's month-end close process. The Staff Accountant will assist with the administration of the Company's stock plan. Finally, the Staff Accountant will prepare ad hoc reports and analyses, as needed from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the Company's 10-Q, 10-K, and other external financial reports as required, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC Regulations, XBRL, or other relevant regulatory guidance and maintain support for such filings.

• Collaborate with other departments to understand transactions which may have accounting or reporting implications.

• Provide support to external auditors and other third-party specialists in a timely fashion.

• Research, opine, and memorialize the technical accounting treatment for certain transactions and routine accounting analyses.

• Remain current on relevant regulations which may apply to the Company and determine how such regulations impact the Company.

• Maintain the Company's accounting policy manual.

• Perform various analyses, on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis, which support or provide guidance for accounting treatment.

• Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or replace current manual processes.

• Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects from time to time.

Education and Experience

Required

The following skills and qualifications are required for consideration:

• BS or BA in Accounting or related field.

• CPA eligibility.

• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Preferred

These skills and qualifications are not required but preference will be given to those candidates who have the following characteristics:

• CPA license.

• Experience in public accounting, particularly the Big 4.

• Familiarity with Workiva.

• Familiarity with a computer programming language, such as Python or R.
