Summary and Objective
The SEC Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the process of periodic financial reporting to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, inclusive of Forms 10-Q and 10-K. The position will provide an opportunity to join a successful, rapidly growing private jet charter company.
Essential functions

Consolidate books on a monthly basis for use in internal/external reporting requirements
Oversee individuals involved in the preparation of external financial statements and review of associated supporting documentation
Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries
Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Coordinates requests with internal and external auditors
Reviews and recommends modifications to the accounting systems and procedures
Prepares special projects as needed and substitutes for other staff as needed or assigned
Assisting with the month-end close process
Research of technical accounting matters, including new pronouncements for issuers
Become an expert on the company's systems (Intacct, Workiva, etc.) and champion process improvements
Supporting tax & audit compliance by compiling and preparing information as requested
Assisting with other critical projects as needed

Qualifications
Required education and experience
Bachelors degree in accounting required with a minimum of 5+ years experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, with preference to experience for external reporting of a SEC public issuer
Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly.
Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key information, including presentations to senior management or other outside partners.
Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
