SEC Reporting Senior Accountant
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results and trends
Prepare and review annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q filings to the SEC
Prepare and review quarterly financial reports to the Board of Directors
Perform technical research of accounting guidance and write white papers to document considerations with conclusions
Write and maintain accounting policies and procedures related to the responsibilities of this position
Participate in and/or lead teams as assigned to projects within the financial reporting area
Communicate and interact effectively with all levels of operating area employees, as well as external auditors and examiners to successfully complete financial reporting objectives
Skills and Abilities:
The incumbent will work in a fast-paced office environment, with highly regimented reporting requirements and strict deadlines
The position requires overtime as needed to fulfill the essential functions and additional responsibilities, which may include special projects as necessary
Must have exceptional computer skills, including a demonstrated ability with Microsoft Excel
Must have a proven ability to understand prioritization and meet deadlines, work well under pressure and communicate effectively with others inside and outside the financial reporting department
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to adequately perform self-reviews of work to be submitted to ensure accuracy and proper presentation of reports
Must be dedicated, well organized, able to multi-task, work independently and in a team environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 2 years financial reporting experience
CPA, insurance industry designations preferred
SEC reporting experience desired
