In the role of Senior Accountant, you will handle the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow. You will also establish budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Expert analytical skills are essential to succeeding in this job. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Utilities/Infrastructure field. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and SOX testing with internal and external

  • Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP - Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

  • Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SEC Reporting

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • 1+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Skilled at time management

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
