Concert Technologies is seeking experienced Structured Cable Technicians (BICSI-certified or previously certified) looking to make the jump to show runner. If youve been a cable installation powerhouse for the last several years and feel youve got the know-how, the drive, and the qualifications to be the Project Manager, Concert Technologies wants to speak with you.

Have you?

  • As a PM or technician/installer had to manage competing demands between multiple sites or projects while meeting deadlines, and maintaining regular duties/activities?
  • Successfully performed fiber and copper cabling termination, testing and certification for 8 years or more?
  • Successfully performed surveys for small, medium, and/or large multi-story network infrastructure cable installations, including backbone and riser installs, and provided the necessary list of materials and man-hours to perform the work?

Project Management Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consults with management and reviews project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.

  • Develops plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.

  • Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project.

  • Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.

  • Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

  • Prepares status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.

  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.

  • Develops and maintains technical and project documentation.

  • Coordinates project activities with all other company departments as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Structured Cabling aspects of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Installing cable pathway systems, such as cable trays, cable racks, j-hooks, or d-rings.

  • Installing, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone, and other cabling.

  • Dressing and routing cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets.

  • Build out telecommunication and equipment rooms, Firestop various types of cable penetrations.

  • Troubleshooting and testing circuits, as specified, to ensure correct diagnosis.

  • Documenting all troubleshooting information and test results.

  • Composing clear and concise daily reports for job, dispatch, and department documentation.

Education and/or Experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
10-12 Years Experience a plus

BICSI Certified Cable Technician / Installer a plus

RCDD a plus, but not required

PMP, RTPM a plus

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Project Managers must be computer savvy, have excellent typing skills, be able to successfully navigate Windows-based programs, be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, and be a master of the Concert Orchestrated Processing System.
