Overview

USTA New England is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Youth Team Tennis Assistant to join our team on a part-time and seasonal basis. This dynamic role involves assisting with the administration of the Youth Rec League across New England, promoting local programs through Park and Recreation Departments to increase youth play opportunities. If you are passionate about nurturing young talent and have a knack for organization and communication, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Where You Can Shine

  • Promote and administer Youth Team Tennis in various communities to ensure the effective delivery and growth of the program.
  • Coordinate team and player registration and assist with the creation of league schedules.
  • Serve as a liaison with Park and Recreation Departments, communicating essential program details.
  • Engage with participants to communicate local league information and confirm post-season play.
  • Monitor program registrations and score entries, and assist in virtual or in-person meetings with team captains and coaches as needed.
  • Support towns, coaches, and players in connecting with teams and facilitate the creation of new teams.
  • Assist in hosting post-season play offerings as directed.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to program procedures.

Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Residence within the New England Section.
    • Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends at events as needed.
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
      • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
      • Ability to be outside at events as required for extended periods.
    • Knowledge of tennis is a major plus!

  • Who does this position work with? This position will report to Jon Kostek, Sr. Manager, Youth Play. The position collaborates with the Recreation Department and all other teams at USTA New England.
  • How much does this position pay? This position is seasonal (June through August), part-time, non-exempt position (up to 10 hours per week) and pays $19/hour.
