Job duties include assisting senior staff by following directions, and assisting in the planning and implementation of summer camp programs. Will demonstrate and instruct children in skateboarding, scooter, and biking skills, along with related camp activities.
The position requires extensive public contact. All camp staff are expected to act as positive and mature role models for camp participants. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
Friday starting on mid
June until mid
August, 2019. July 4 week IS included.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent oral communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Successful candidate must be physically able (with or without accommodations) to be outside on the course in typical summer weather conditions that includes heat, or rain showers, for extended periods of time.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age.
Requires previous experience in skateboarding, in-line skating, scooter-riding, BMX riding or Parkour.
Must hold current CPR/First Aid certifications or have the ability to obtain upon hire. (training will be provided)
Prior experience working with or volunteering with children (ages 5-14) in a group setting is preferred.
Requires drug testing and background check (which may include criminal check, education and credit history review) prior to employment. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the background checks process.
