As a seasonal sales associate, your responsibilities, shifts, and employment period will be based on the needs of the business. Your leader will communicate your last day of employment as your assignment comes to an end. A seasonal position can lead to a regular position with Gap Inc.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Seasonal Sales Associate generates sales and cultivates customer loyalty by ensuring customer relationships are created and maintained while ensuring a neat, clean and organized store. Seasonal Sales Associates are responsible for creating an exceptional Brand experience in the store and are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Leader on Duty or as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Displays a "customer is the priority" mindset at all times

  • Consistently treats all Gap customers and employees with respect and contributes to a positive work environment

  • Accountable to contribute to the achievement of store goals and results

  • Upholds the commitments to the company's processes, values and Code of Business Conduct

  • Collaborates with store team to develop innovative solutions to business needs

  • May flex between customer or support roles as needed by the business

  • Meets or exceeds Company expectations of customer service throughout the store: genuine/authentic interactions, offering solutions or ideas to customers, providing guidance on product fit and style, fitting room experience, loyalty programs, communication and execution of customer promotions / incentives, etc.

  • Executes Omni-Channel processes to ensure customer needs are met (i.e., SFS, RIS)

  • Promotes customer loyalty by educating customers about our" loyalty" programs

  • Communicates customer feedback and opportunities with the management team to improve the overall customer experience

  • Offers current style advice and is knowledgeable on trends as well as the products we offer

  • Performs various product placement, replenishment and recovery tasks to maintain a visually appealing, easy shopping experience for our customers

  • Perform cash register functions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred

  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, work with and around cleaning chemicals, and lift/carry up to 30lbs.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evening, overnight and weekend shift.

The associate will demonstrate superior service with appropriate level of speed and efficiency. The Seasonal Women's Shoe Associate in Open-Sell locations will make our clients the top priority upon arrival, throughout their visit, and ultimately, their departure. The associate is also responsible for fulfillment, merchandising, pricing, signing and performing other duties as necessary. In order to present our customers with the best holiday shopping experience, many of our Seasonal associates arrive prior to store opening and remain after closing to ensure we are ready to make Macy's magic. Seasonal associates will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. And don't forget - just in time for holiday shopping, you will receive an employee discount of up to 20% starting your first day! Any schedule hours listed in the job posting title are subject to change based on business needs. All holiday associates may be required to work hours other than those stated in the job posting title on weekends, or on key holiday events such as the Friday after Thanksgiving. Essential Functions: * Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority. * Be proficient in POS and MPOS systems including Search and Send, My Client and existing tablet apps. * Replenish merchandise displays and other products as needed. * Maintain upkeep of shoe floor and customer readiness standards by delivering a clean, neat, easy to shop store environment. * Proactive in assisting customers who are using devices to shop and compare, whether Macy's devices or their own. * Assist customers in all aspects of service fulfillment (i.e. BOPS) with speed and efficiency. * Acknowledge customers in a friendly and helpful manner and greet when they enter department. * Handle returns courteously and professionally; suggest new merchandise so the customer doesn't leave the store empty handed. * Offer to call other locations if merchandise is unavailable within store; * Offer to put purchase on customer's Macy's charge account toward the end of the shopping experience. * Reinforce customer's selection and package merchandise with care. * Determine customer needs based on customer preference. * Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services to build sales and minimum returns, including Macy's Loyalty Program. * Suggest additional merchandise to compliment customer selection. * Develop product knowledge through collaboration with Supervisor, District/Region team members and vendors. * Develop repeat business through exceptional selling behaviors, using My Client. * Achieve team sales and loyalty goals through collaboration with Support and Sales Associates. * Be knowledgeable of current promotional events and sales. * Adhere to Asset Protection, inventory control and compliance procedures. * Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications: Education/Experience: * No specific educational accomplishment is required. * Previous selling experience and product knowledge in Women's Shoes preferred, but not required. Communication Skills: * Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management. * Able to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette. Mathematical Skills: * Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. * Able to use a calculator. * Must be able to calculate percentages and rations. * Must be able to make change using American Monetary Units. Reasoning Ability: * Ability to work as part of a team, or independently with minimal supervision.
