Job Description:

Position Overview

This position is responsible for activities associated with the receiving, storage, handling, packaging, shipping and application of raw materials, products, goods and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance and active participation in all relevant safety and environmental programs

  • Receives, stores, cares for, processes, packages, distributes and applies products and services within the facility or customers location to include housekeeping and upkeep

  • Performs basic quality inspections and records operational data

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Minimal job-related experience

  • Work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy

  • Duties are clearly defined and methods and tasks are described in detail

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

  • No experience required

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time

  • Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds

  • Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 100 feet

  • Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures

  • Working conditions could include: dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces

Conner has 14 manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and is #2 in the U.S. market share.<br></p><p><strong>KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br>A visible leader, developing and leading a production team focused on achieving quality and meeting delivery expectations to our customers in a safe, effective and efficient manner.<br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul> <li>Supervise hourly employees and allocate accordingly to support saw and assembly workload.</li> <li>Train employees in accordance with company policies.</li> <li>Coordinate orders to ensure on-time delivery to customers.</li> <li>Lead paperwork processing to ensure accuracy in material usage and waste management at the workstations.</li> <li>Complete scheduling and reporting in the ERP system to support order processing.</li> <li>Ensure equipment is maintained and support maintenance and changeovers.</li> <li>Coach employees and continually support a positive work environment.</li> <li>Oversee and conduct training on proper operation of equipment and lead safety efforts.</li> <li>Participate in projects and lean efforts to drive continual improvement. </li> <li>Be a visible leader, leading by example with work ethic and attitude.</li> <li>Maintain an acceptable attendance record.</li> <li>Must be able to work in a team environment.</li> <li>Perform other duties that may be assigned.</li> </ul> <strong>QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE</strong><ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in a lumber related field preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of supervision experience; multiple departments.</li> <li>Experience with inventory management and material processing; forklift certification a plus.</li> <li>Mechanically inclined; experience with wood cutting and manufacturing facility infrastructures.</li> <li>Past work in a continuous improvement culture, Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt training is a plus.</li> <li>Strong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li>Prior experience in ERP or other business and production scheduling systems.</li> <li>Great communicator and experience building / working in a team environment.</li> <li>Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical thinking.</li> </ul> <strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong><br>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit and kneel.
