Candidates must have a personal vehicle that meets UPS standards. Personal Vehicle Drivers must have proof of a registered vehicle for use, minimum state required auto insurance, and must be 21 years of age or older.

Trucks cannot be over 10,000 pounds and must have a covered and secured bed. Vehicles cannot have low rider suspensions, oversized rims, aftermarket blacked out windows, other company's logos or markings, and must be free of bumper stickers, political stickers, offensive markings etc.

This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Personal Vehicle Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills.

Qualified applicants must have a valid driver's license issued in the state that they live. A DOT physical exam is required for this position. No at fault accidents within the last 3 years; no moving violations within the last 12 months.

Candidates may be required to travel to an identified start location that is away from the facility. Personal Vehicle Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.

Full-time UPS employees work eight or more hours during weekdays (Monday through Friday). Saturday and Holiday work may be required/available intermittently throughout the season. Typical operating hours are from 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Essential Functions1. Inspects truck and trailer before and after trips and submits report indication truck condition. 2. Reads bill of lading to determine assignment and/or creates bill of lading and delivery ticket if needed. 3. Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading trucks and railcars. 4. Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer. 5. Obtains customer's signature on delivery document. 6. Inspects goods to be moved. 7. May secure load to trailer wall using straps. 8. Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products, usually over long distance. 9. Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from spotter as needed. 10. May drive truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations. 11. Maintains driver log according to federal regulations. 12. May work as member of two-person team driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab. 13. Assists in other maintenance or production areas as required. 14. Loads bulk and flatbed trucks as required. 15. Performs other duties assigned by management.Education & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or educational equivalent. 3 years of experience. Valid driving license required. Thorough knowledge of regulations for the transportation of products and materials being transported. Appropriate licensing from the proper regulatory authority. Commercial Drivers License, interstate driving and hazardous material endorsement required in US.Position SummaryResponsible for driving government-regulated vehicles both in-state and between states. Responsible for transporting and delivering equipment both interstate and intrastate. Responsible for the safety and inspection of the vehicle before, during and after operation.
