Description / Position Overview
SEASONAL - Parks Maintenance Worker
In this position, you will assist with the maintenance of medians, rights-of-way, and parks.
This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).
Anticipated dates of employment are from May through September. Normal hours worked will be 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (some weekends and holidays).
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Mow, trim, weed, aerate, seed, top dress, edge, and rake
Maintain and repair irrigation systems
Pick up trash
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment such as trucks, trailers, riding and push mowers, and tractors
Ability to safely operate hand tools
Successful candidates will have
Be at least 17 years of age
Have landscape or facility maintenance experience
Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Ideal candidates will also have
Experience working with irrigation systems
Specialized training in landscaping or grounds maintenance
Additional Information
Physical Demands: The ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally is also required.
Environmental Conditions: This position requires working outside in all weather conditions and along high traffic areas.
