The Denver Municipal Golf Courses are open for play year-round (weather permitting) from daylight until dark and the golf pro shops are open 364 days a year with the exception of the Christmas Day holiday. We are seeking applicants who are able to work weekends and holidays during our operating season.

Golf Outdoor Course Worker responsibilities:

  • Performs routine landscaping

  • Mows, aerates, and fertilizes sports fields, parks and other landscaped areas

  • Loads and unloads equipment and supplies, cleans and cares for basic tools and equipment

  • Assists in the repair of water line breaks, cuts and lays sod, cleans sprinkler lines, valves and heads

  • Assists trades workers with painting and other assigned duties

  • Assists fence crews in the basic maintenance of ball fields, playgrounds, and construction of sprinkling systems

  • Assists with horticultural tasks in flower beds and other plantings

  • By position, may assist tree trimmers in the maintenance of trimming, removing, and spraying trees

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

  • Any one position may not include all of the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above

This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules

About You

We are looking for applicants who have a great attitude and who would love to work early in the morning out on the Golf Course. Our ideal candidate is seeking an opportunity to do work that positively impacts Denver's Golf Courses.

Additionally, our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous golf course maintenance experience (landscaping, irrigation, mowing, etc.)

  • Have graduated from high school or has a GED certificate

  • Be currently enrolled in a Turf Management program

  • Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Consistency and punctuality

The Westwood Community is a family-oriented neighborhood in Southwest Denver that is increasingly partnering with Parks & Recreation to provide engaging youth programming that meet community needs. My Outdoor Colorado -Westwood is looking to hire a part-time Outreach Community Connector Assistant to help facilitate our successful and expanding neighborhood partnership to better support our community. The Community Connector Assistant will work with the partners of My Outdoor Colorado – Westwood (Boys and Girls Club, CityWild, ReVision, Denver Parks and Recreation, Groundwork Denver, Lincoln Hills Cares, Mile High Youth Corps, National Wildlife Federation, The Kiva Center, The Greenway Foundation, The Trust for Public Land, and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado) and other project staff to support the implementation of family nature programs and outreach to the Westwood community. The outreach efforts will include schools, churches, non-profits, and other neighborhood associations. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone looking to learn more about specialized recreation programming, work a flexible schedule, and provide exceptional programming to Westwood Youth. Job Responsibilities: * Support our Family Nature Club Advisory council * Assist with recruiting families for participation in Family Nature Club activities including a monthly evening meeting and occasional family nature outings on select evenings/Saturdays/Weekends * Aid in outreach and community connection activities to develop relationships, gather information, and report information back to the My Outdoor Colorado – Westwood Coalition * Build rapport with neighborhood families to build trust and gather information about family outdoor interests in a culturally mindful way * Communicate regularly with community partners, families, and organizations through text, email, phone, and in person in a clear and professional manner * Assist in development of monthly My Outdoor Colorado newsletter, including distribute to schools and external agencies throughout the Westwood community * Maintain regularly scheduled hours at the office to provide direct and consistent communication to coalition partners and participating families * Other duties as assigned This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits.
