Your role at Sephora:

As a Seasonal Make-up Advisor (Consultant), you are an expert in all things skin! You will greet and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to every client who enters the skincare zone of the store. In addition, you will:

  • Listen to clients to determine their skincare needs and suggest products that meet those needs based on your expertise, Sephora product training, and available in-store technology

  • Celebrate beauty with our clients and share product knowledge as appropriate

  • Participate in operations activities such as: inventory control, loss prevention programs to reduce shortage, compliance with sampling policies and procedures, and maintaining store cleanliness standards

  • Assist in other areas of the store if requested/necessary, such as the cashwrap and the beauty studio

  • Ensure continued product training plans are met so you remain an expert in beauty trends, application, and special events within the store

  • Provide client touch-ups, skin consultations, and makeovers as required

  • 1-3 years' experience in the retail or service industry

This position provides employment and employment related-services to veterans with special emphasis on campaign badge veterans, other veterans having service connected disabilities and any other veteran that has a Significant Barrier to Employment (SBE) that is listed in Veterans Program Letter (VPL) 03-14. Includes the development or appropriate employment and training opportunities and promotion of the hiring of disabled and other veterans. Work involves case managing and providing intensive services to veterans. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies * Demonstrated ability interviewing military veterans or the general public to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities and personality characteristics for either vocational, employment or educational opportunities. * Demonstrated ability answering questions, explaining or interpreting state or federal rules, or regulations to military veterans or the general public. * Demonstrated ability reviewing employment applications and evaluating individual work history, military records, education and training to assess job skills, compensation needs or other qualifications. MANAGEMENT'S PREFERENCES: * Management prefers applicants with one (1) year prior experience working with military veterans and employers providing placement and related services. * Should have a good knowledge of agency employment services and veteran programming. * Should be knowledgeable of all veterans' organizations in the community. * Individual should have solid PC skills to include usage of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Necessary Special Requirement: 38 U.S.C. 4103A requires that employees in this class be honorably discharged veterans who have served a minimum of 180 days on active duty other than for training in the Armed Forces or were discharged or relieved from active duty because of service-connected disability. Chapter 41 of Title 38 continues, "Preference shall be accorded in the following order: * To qualified service-connected disabled veterans. * If no veteran described in paragraph (1) is available, to qualified eligible veterans. * If no veteran described in paragraph (1) or (2) is available, then to qualified eligible persons.
