Seasonal Ice Rink Workers:

  • Part Time Positions (10-29 hrs/week): Lead Cashier, Customer Service Specialist, Facility Maintenance Specialist

Examples of Duties

Facility Maintenance Specialist (2 positions open):

  • Must be minimum of 18 years old.

  • Responsible for performing general maintenance tasks of Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, such as operating a Zamboni and other equipment for ice grooming, inspection and repair of dasher boards, facility maintenance, ice skate sharpening and inventory, and general ice rink duties as needed.

  • Identify maintenance problems, perform emergency repairs, follow up on work requests, follow established preventive maintenance repairs, perform a safety and security checks of facilities on a daily basis.

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with customers, ice rink volunteers, co-workers, and superiors.

  • Act in accordance with all rules and regulations, including proper attire and appropriate communication at all times.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Customer Service Specialist (5 positions open):

  • Must be minimum of 16 years old.

  • Responsible for attending to customer service related functions at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink including handling sales transactions, distributing and maintaining rental skates, providing concessions, managing public use of the ice rink and adherence to safety protocol, rules and regulations.

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with customers, ice rink volunteers, co-workers, and superiors.

  • Act in accordance with all rules and regulations, including proper attire and appropriate communication at all times.

Lead Cashier (2 positions open):

  • Must be minimum of 18 years old.

  • Responsible for attending to customer service related functions at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink including handling sales transactions, answering phones and responding to customer inquiries, managing inventory, providing concessions

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with customers, ice rink volunteers, co-workers, and superiors.

  • Act in accordance with all rules and regulations, including proper attire and appropriate communication at all times.

Required Qualifications

ALL JOBS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk, stoop, sit, and bend to provide assistance to guests. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Environment includes inclement weather conditions and will require work outdoors in cold seasonal temperatures.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be minimum of 18 years old.

Pass a background check.

Act in accordance with all rules and regulations, including proper attire and appropriate communication at all times.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and evenings. Must have a combination of skills, knowledge, and training that will ensure performance of above-outlined responsibilities. Good public relation skills a must. Must be able to perform duties on the ice while skating. Will be expected to present a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Must be able to respond both mentally and physically to any first aid emergency that arises. Must be able to work safely using established procedures for facility.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Current First Aid card with AED OR the ability to attend a certification session on November 3rd from 9 am 5 pm. Successful candidates will be required to attend mandatory all-staff trainings between November 7 - 14th . Additional specialized training may follow.

Facility Maintenance Specialist

Must be minimum of 18 years old.

Applicants must have a valid Oregon Drivers License, clean driving record and ability to demonstrate ability to operate large ice resurfacing equipment.

Demonstrate experience and proficiency with tools/powered equipment including standard safety protocol.

Customer Service Specialist

Must be minimum of 16 years old.

Must have skills and ability to demonstrate customer service principles, basic accounting skills, ability to effectively communicate to large groups and coworkers.

Ability to operate computers/ POS equipment and perform basic math.

Lead Cashier

Must be minimum of 18 years old.

At least 6 months experience in cash handling, accounting, or customer service duties.

Must have skills and ability to demonstrate customer service principles, basic accounting skills, ability to effectively communicate to large groups and coworkers.

Ability to operate computers/ POS equipment and perform basic math.
